SURFSIDE MEMORIES

After visiting friends at church and the senior center, the men of His Voice and their families headed for Laguna's Aliso Beach on Pacific Coast Highway, California's Route 1. We had had a full day, traveling on SoCal's highways, singing for several hours, and now we headed for the beach.
.
We hurried to relax, you might say, grabbing our coolers and tents and picnic food, searching for a free fire pit, which unfortunately, were all taken by early morning. So we regrouped, realizing that we had plenty of food even without roasting our hotdogs, corn, and marshmallows. Not long after that decision, some very innovative folks created a makeshift fire pit in the form of four square aluminum pans filled with charcoal briquettes and the roasting began.
.
It didn't take very long before music began to fill the air with the guys playing their guitars, mandolins, harmonicas, and keyboard. After enjoying some delicious hotdogs, beans, potato and macaroni salads and more, we eased into our beach chairs and leaned back to watch the sun set and our Sabbath day come to a close. "Thank you, Lord, for a day together, with You and friends, old and new! You are beautiful!
