BEST RETURNS

Old familiar places call us back like long-lost memories of home. Returning for the second time to the United Methodist Church worshipping on Margarita Road in Temecula was just that to His Voice.
Their openness and obvious upbeat spirit last Sunday afternoon at the large community church was so refreshing that it was easy to sing for them again.

Sitting outside with a table full of CD's some of the men of His Voice heard comments like these ...
.
"It kept me from road rage! I was listening to your music when someone cut me off on the freeway. I was amazed at how calm I felt!" "I am happier and thinner today because I kept peddling my exercise bike through your CD, every day!

It was mid-afternoon and time for another concert. His Voice had just finished their concert at Valley Christian Church up the road (see article below "Singing His Story") and were lining up on stage when His Voice member Ron Harrison, now living in Tennessee, walked up the steps and surprised everyone. (Ron is the only one wearing His Voice's Hawaiian shirt, the traditional afternoon attire while the rest of the men stayed warm in their dress suits.)

The concert began with His Voice encircling the congregation singing a capella, "Holy, Holy, Holy" from the four corners of the sanctuary. The sound was awesome and reportedly caused a few goose bumps.

Next the men gathered together up front and sang "Praise to the Lord" with Joyce Leal at the piano and Karen Knight at the keyboard accompanying His Voice in grand fashion.

Later in the concert, His Voice Pianists Sonia Dias and Joyce Leal accompanied the men in a lively piano duet together.

The concert continued on with many wonderful songs, "Almighty God," "Sweet, Sweet Spirit," "Champion of Love," and, of course, "Written in Red." Below Second Tenor Mario Rocha and First Tenor Anesio Dias sing an old Southern Gospel favorite, "Satisfied."

As His Voice ended their concert, the congregation stood and showed their appreciation. It was good to be together again, sharing the love of God with these brothers and sisters in Christ. As everyone walked outside and looked around at the distant mountains, the lyrics of the last song, "No More Night," echoed in many hearts:

"The time is near: earth and heaven will pass away.

It's not a dream. God will make all things new that day.

Gone is the curse from which I stumbled and fell.

Evil is banished to eternal hell. No more night, no more pain!

No more tears...never crying again

All praises to the Great I AM.

We will live in the Light of the Risen Lamb!"
